Take a look at how I've been engaging in Milwaukee's vibrant theater community off-stage!
In the Fall of 2023, I created the Golda Meir Theater Department Instagram page, @goldameirtheater. Our school community is full of talented actors and performers, and I wanted to give our students an outlet to share their work. In the past year, I've grown the account to approximately 250 followers and have connected with local theaters to share Golda's talent with the entire city, highlighting the show process, cultural celebrations, and what actors are doing outside of school in Milwaukee's professional theater scene.
Milwaukee Repertory Theater’s Teen Council is a teen-run leadership program. Initiatives include advocating for the arts before members of the Wisconsin state legislature, engaging fellow councils from across the country, planning teen events, and organizing Dramathon, our annual 24-hour play reading fundraiser!
I joined Teen Council in 2023, and have since been given many incredible opportunities to engage with Milwaukee's theater community and amplify the voices of young people. This year, I was elected to the Leadership Board and am currently serving as the Social Media Manager. Most recently, I helped to promote and cover Dramathon 2025, where we raised $1,398 and read 19 plays (or 1,679 pages) in 24 hours!
Here is a collection of pictures from Teen Council's latest Teen Night for Milwaukee Repertory Theater's production of The Woman in Black, direct from London's West End. Teens were invited to step up to the mic after the show to share their own ghost stories. I got the privilege of capturing the event!
This past summer, I represented Milwaukee Repertory Theater and Teen Council in Chicago at the Theater Communications Group National Conference. We attended sessions focusing on building authentic community engagement, encouraging intergenerational conversations, and looking toward the future of activism in theater. This conference allowed Teen Council the opportunity to collaborate with other teen leadership groups and industry professionals. Following the conference, we've been better equipped to serve the Milwaukee community and beyond.
